Rotterdam renewable diesel refineryIn September 2011 Neste Oil started up Europe's largest renewable diesel refinery in Rotterdam. Production of NExBTL renewable diesel at the new refinery will be ramped up on a phased basis. The Rotterdam refinery has a capacity of 800,000 t/a. The start-up of the refinery is a significant milestone in Neste Oil's cleaner traffic strategy and consolidates the company's position as the world's leading producer of renewable diesel.
Excellent location
The refinery is situated in the Maasvlakte area in the western part of the Port of Rotterdam. Its location close to other chemicals plants offers a number of synergy opportunities with other facilities. Nearby plants supply Neste Oil with utilities.
The refinery employs approximately 150 people, consisting of 110 Neste Oil
employees and 40 service provider personnel.
