Production technology
Neste Oil has developed a premium quality NExBTL renewable diesel production technology which allows flexible use of any vegetable or waste oil in the production of premium-quality renewable diesel. Based on its technical qualities, NExBTL diesel is one of the best diesel fuels in the world.
Neste Oil is the leading renewable diesel producer in the world. The company’s first NExBTL production plant was commissioned in Finland at Neste Oil’s Porvoo refinery in the summer 2007. Second facility came on stream there in 2009. They both have a capacity of 190 000 metric t/a.
In November 2010, Neste Oil started up the world's largest NExBTL refinery in Singapore. The Singapore refinery has a capacity of 800,000 metric t/a.
In September 2011 Neste Oil started up Europe's largest renewable diesel refinery in the Netherlands, Rotterdam. The Rotterdam refinery has a capacity of 800,000 t/a. It is Neste Oil’s fourth facility producing high-quality renewable diesel and will increase Neste Oil’s total production capacity to 2 million tons annually.
